Privacy policy
Feedguard is a Shopify app made by Nikao Industries (Pune, Maharashtra, India) that reads a merchant's supplier stock and price files and updates the merchant's product quantities, prices and costs to match. This policy explains what information the app uses when a merchant installs it, and how that information is handled.
Information the app accesses
- Product and inventory information from your store: product titles, vendors and tags; variant titles, SKUs, barcodes, prices, compare-at prices and costs; inventory tracking settings and available quantities; and the names of your locations.
- Store details: your store's domain, time zone, and whether it is a development store.
- Subscription status for the app, from Shopify billing.
- Supplier files you point the app to (by web address, FTP or SFTP) or upload.
The app does not access your customers, orders, or your customers' personal information. It changes your store only to apply syncs: on the schedule you set, when you click Sync, or when you approve a preview.
Information the app stores
- Your store's domain, time zone, and the access token Shopify issues so the app can read and update your products.
- Your feed settings: file addresses, server names, usernames, column choices and rules. Passwords for supplier servers are stored encrypted (AES-256) and are never shown again in the app.
- A history of each sync: when it ran, counts, and the individual changes (variant, field, value before and after), kept for 90 days so you can review and undo syncs.
- Uploaded files are kept only until the sync that uses them has been compared with your store, then deleted. Downloaded supplier files are processed in memory and not stored.
How information is used
Only to provide the app: reading your supplier files, comparing them with your products, applying and undoing syncs, applying your plan's limits, and providing support when you contact us. We do not sell information, use it for advertising, or share it with anyone except the service providers below.
Change exports
You can download a CSV of any sync's changes. Each download link is signed, works only for your store, and expires after one hour.
Service providers
The app and its database are hosted by Fly.io (servers in the United States), which processes this data on our behalf under its own security and confidentiality commitments. Payments for paid plans are handled entirely by Shopify; we never see your payment details.
Retention and deletion
- Sync history older than 90 days is deleted automatically.
- When you uninstall the app, its access to your store ends immediately and scheduled syncs stop. Your feeds and history are kept for 48 hours in case you reinstall; then Shopify asks us to erase the store's data, and we delete your feeds, stored passwords, sync history and store details.
- You can ask us to delete your data sooner, or ask what we hold, by emailing contact@nikaoindustries.com.
Your rights
Depending on where you are, laws such as the EU/UK GDPR and India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act give you rights to access, correct and delete personal data. Email us and we will respond within 30 days.
Security
Data is sent over encrypted connections (HTTPS). Supplier server passwords are encrypted at rest. The app refuses to connect to private or internal network addresses. Access to the app's database is restricted to the people who operate the app.
Changes
If this policy changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Significant changes will be announced in the app.
